Men roll over Scranton
Monaca, PA-Penn State Beaver Men's Basketball Team (4-2, 1-1 PSUAC) played their second PSUAC game of the season against Penn State Scranton (Dunmore,PA).
The men of Beaver opened up the game on a 8-0 run before a Scranton stop. The game was 15-9 for about three minutes, before Beaver's aggressive defense kicked in. A pretty much one-sided half sent Beaver into the locker room up 35-22 at half time.
The second half showed an aggressive side in Scranton's defense. But Beaver slowed them down. Robert Agurs (Penn Hills/Pittsburgh, PA) ripped open in the paint with seven rebounds and nine points. A tough Beaver team proved to be too much for Scranton as Beaver out scored them 42-30 for the half. Beaver went on to 77-52.
Chris Weathers (New Brighton/New Brighton, PA) led the team with 14 points followed by Tony Houghton (Perry Traditional Academy/Pittsburgh, PA) with 11, and Darius Prince (West Mifflin/Pittsburgh, PA) and Tyler Care (Lincoln Park/Hopewell, PA) with 10 points each. Prince also led the team with 10 rebounds, and Markes Royster (Penn Hills/Pittsburgh, PA) led with five steals.
Beaver's next home game will be Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 3pm against Penn State Wilkes-Barre (Lehman, PA).
