Coach Jack Hilfinger will be entering his thirteenth season as the Head Men's Baseball Coach at Beaver holding a career record of 169-200-1 and a PSUAC record of 122-105-1. Hilfinger has more than twenty years of experience in coaching baseball. From 1993 to 1998, he was head coach of the Titans at the Community College of Beaver County. In addition, he administered the Beaver County Recreation League numerous seasons. 

For the first time in Hilfingers' career, the 2019 team did not qualifiy for post-season play going a disappointing 12-17 overall and 4-11 in the PSUAC.  But for the second season, he has been rebuilding his young team after nearly a decade of success. 

His streak began in 2010 with his first PSUAC Championship and trip to the USCAA Small College World Series.  The following year he returned to the post-season but only advanced to the second round before their season came to an end.  He returned to the PSUAC Championship in 2012, but fell in a tight game, 3-2, to Penn State Mont Alto.  Despite finishing as the runners-up, the team earned their second bid to the USCAA Small College World Series in just three years.  The 2013 and 2014 seaons both saw post-season runs as well, but both were cut short early on in the tournament.  Again in 2015, with a relatively young squad, Hilfinger led his talented group back to the PSUAC Championship were they came up short yet again, this time against cross-town rivals, Penn State Greater Allegheny.  In the 2016 season, the men's baseball team returned to the top with a commanding PSUAC Championship over Penn State Schuylkill.  Heading into the PSUAC Tournament, the men weren't expected to advance out of the first round, but behind strong senior leadership they rallied together to go undefeated in the three day event.  Their conference championship gave them an automatic bid into the USCAA Tournament where they fell in the first round Cleary University.  The 2017 Lions entered conference play hot, looking to defend their championship, winning their first two PSUAC games and eventually finished the season poised to enter into the playoffs for the eighth consecutive year.  However, they fell in the first round to Mont Alto in an 11-inning game.  They finished the season with an overall record of 13-10 and 7-5 in the PSUAC.  In 2018, behind just three seniors, the team full of underclassmen fought their way into the PSUAC post-season tournament with a conference record of 8-8.  In their first round game they faced cross-town rival Greater Allegheny and got the revenge they seeked from the 2015 season, winning that game 7-3.  Unfortunately, they saw their season close in the second round of the tournament. 

Hilfinger began playing baseball at Penn State Beaver and graduated with a bachelor's degree in health/physical education/recreation administration from Penn State University Park. He holds a master's degree in sports and athletic administration from Slippery Rock University.

Hilfinger has more than twenty years of experience in coaching baseball. From 1993 to 1998, he was head coach of the Titans at the Community College of Beaver County. In addition, he administered the Beaver County Recreation League numerous seasons. 

Looking to defend their 2016 conference championship, the 2017 Lions entered conference play hot in 2017 winning their first two PSUAC games and eventually finished the season poised to enter into the playoffs for the second consecutive year.  However, they fell in the first round to Mont Alto in an 11-inning game.  They finished the season with an overall record of 13-10 and 7-5 in the PSUAC.  This marks the 6th consecutive year that the team has participated in the post season tournament.  In addition to the team success Coach Hilfinger also had three players named USCAA All-Americans and four named PSUAC All-Conference.  The team also had nine players earn PSUAC All-Academic honors.

The 2015 campaign ended with a second place finish in the conference as the team made it all the way to the PSUAC Championship where they faced rival Greater Allegheny, but couldn't edge out the victory.  Their 13-6 finish in the conference earned them a trip to the USCAA National Tournament, their first since 2010 season.
