Beaver Falls in Extras to Henry Ford
Myrtle Beach, SC -- Beaver nearly knocks off Henry Ford, but falls in extra innings.
After falling behind by two in the top of the first, Beaver answered in a big way scoring five in the bottom of the second with RBI's coming from Johnny Rowland, Christian James, Shelton Hilliard and Trey Luffy as 7 of the 10 batters reached base safely.
Henry Ford cut the deficit to one in the third and took the lead in the top of the fifth, 6-5. But Beaver evened the score in the bottom of the sixth after Scott Hughes got things started witha lead off double. A bunt single from Jacob Beck advanced him to third and Hughes scored the tying run on a Stefan Romaniuk single.
Again Henry Ford regained the lead in the top of the 7th, but Beaver wasn't going away quietly. Justyn Francona hit a one out single and then scored on a double to right field off of the bat of Noah Rinker to send the game into extra innings.
Unfortunatly, Beaver gave up a run in the top of the eighth and was not able to answer in the bottom of the inning, falling by a final score of 8-7.
Beaver now sits at 2-4 and will return to action tomorrow moring for their final game of the week against Elgin C.C. at 10 a.m.
