Penn State Beaver Baseball Loses First Round Of PSUAC Tournament
Beaver is coming off a split win against Penn State Mont Alto looking to win their first game of the tournament.
Before the game, Beaver reconizges Senior Jenna Petrucci due to their game being cancelled yesterday. We wish her the best with her future career and aknowledge her for graduting on May 5th.
Both teams were held scoreless until the fitfh inning when Penn State Beaver broke for 3 runs the bottom of that inning. Scoring for Beaver were Scott Hughes (Aliquppia PA, Central Valley), Matt Capo (Moon, PA, Moon) And Dan Vanderslice (Sharon, PA, Sharon). Despite Beaver taking the lead 3-0, Penn State Mont Alto answered with 4 runs in the top of the sixth inning. Beaver then regains the lead in the bottom half of the inning scoring two runs on three hits including an RBI off the bat of Blaise McCarty. Completing the runs again were Matt Capo and Scott Hughes.
Feeling the pressure Mont Alto wouldn't go away by scoring two runs in the next inning. Scott Hughes forced extra innings by managing an RBI single off of Mont Alto pitcher. Both were held scoreless until the 11th inning when Mont Alto put up three runs. Mont Alto's Matt Taylor produced an RBI single and Jeremiah Younker hit a two-run homer, which put up Mont Alto up for good. Losing this game ends Beaver season with a record of 13-10.
