Beaver Picks Up Non-Conference Win Against BCCC

Monaca, PA -- Beaver takes down BCCC by a score of 6-1.
After being rained out yesterday, Beaver looked to pick up a victory against local Butler County Community College.
Beaver started the game hot, scoring four runs in their first at bat. After a lead off walk by Ty Cole (Carmichaels, PA / Carmichaels), Blaise McCarty (Beaver Falls, PA / Riverside) singled to put runners on first and second. Jake Debo (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) then singled on a bunt to load the bases for Jordan Price (Conway, PA / Freedom) who would earn the RBI as he walked in his at bat. After a passed ball scored McCarty and allowed Debo and Price to advance into scoring position, Justyn Francona (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) hit an RBI single to score Debo followed by Nick Casasanta (Moon Twp, PA / Moon) who despite hitting into a double play, allowed Price to score the fourth Beaver run of the inning.
Holding Buter scoreless, Beaver added their fifth run of the game in the fourth inning (5-0) and then their 6th run in the 6th inning all before BCCC was able to avoid the shut out, scoring a lone run in the seventh inning.
After an uneventful and scoreless 8th and 9th innings, Beaver took the win by a final score of 6-1 over the NJCAA BCCC Pioneers.
Eight of the nine offensive starters for Beaver each had at least one hit in the game, led by McCarty who was 2 for 3, Debo who was 2 for 5 and Price who was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI's. On the mound earning his first win of the season was Dimetres Moore (Mesa, Az / Skyline) who faced 17 batters in 5 innings.
Beaver returns to conference play on Saturday, April 1st as they host Mont Alto in a double header.
