Four Beaver Baseball Player Earn USCAA Honors
Monaca, PA -- Four Beaver Baseball Player Earn USCAA Honors.
As the 2016 baseball season comes to a close, four players earned USCAA All-American honors for their accomplishments on the field.
Earning 2nd Team All-American, is PSUAC Newcomer of the Year, Stephen Antolic. Antolic hit .425 this season, leading the team among those players with more than 75% games played. He also led the team in RBI's with 45, was tied for 1st in homeruns with 5, lead in doubles with 15 and led the team in hits with 54.
Three players also earned Honorable Mention All-American. First was senior, Tyler Thellman who batted .331 on the season with 17 RBI's, while leading the team in at bats with 142 in 40 games.
Also earning the honor was Nick Casasanta. Nick batted .373 with 33 RBI's. From the mound, Casasanta went 4-3 on the season with an ERA of 4.47 with 43 strike outs, leading the team in that category.
Finally, Jake Debo, who hit .385 on the year with 38 RBI's, second on the team. He also put out 5 home runs, tying for first with Antolic, to earn his Honorable Mention award.
These four players played an integral role in the success of the program this season as they won the PSUAC Championship and qualified for the National Tournament for the second straight year. The three returning players will surely play a large role next season as they provide leadership for the younger players on the team.
