Beaver Falls to Crosstown Rival Geneva
Lions defeated by a final score of 9-3
Beaver Falls, PA -- Beaver falls in non-conference action to crosstown rival, Geneva College.
After two scoreless innings, Beaver opened the scoring in the top of the third on a Jake Debo (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) double scoring both Stephen Antolic (Freedom, PA / Ambridge) and Jordan Price (Conway, PA / Freedom) who both reached base safely earlier in the inning. A single from Nick Casasanta (Moon Twp, PA / Moon) drove in the final run of the inning, giving Beaver a 3-0 lead. The Golden Tornadoes would quickly answer in the bottom of the inning with three runs of their own to tie the game.
The Lions were held scorless in the fourth while Geneva tallied an additional six runs, leaving Beaver with a large deficit to overcome. Despite their best efforts, Beaver was only able to generate 3 more hits in the game, none of them resulting in runs. Beaver fell by a final score of 9-3 in the 9 inning contest.
Leading the offense for Beaver was Debo who went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's and Casasanta who also went 2 for 4, the pair resulting in 4 of the teams 7 hits. As March comes to and end, Beaver looks forward to opening PSUAC play on Saturday, April 2nd when they host Penn State Wilkes-Barre. The game is slated to start at 2:00 p.m.
